Summer 2008 offers an outstanding opportunity to support the services offered through Pine Rest’s Iowa outpatient clinics. Cal Meuzelaar, a long-time bicycling enthusiast and Director of Iowa Services, will bicycle from Florence, Oregon to Salem, Massachusetts, fulfilling a lifetime dream. Mindful of people who need financial support to access needed mental health counseling and help, Cal is dedicating his efforts in raising $100,000 for charitable services through the Iowa clinics. People who choose Pine Rest are on a journey of change. Sometimes, the big uphill changes may be like cycling through a Rocky Mountain pass. Other times, the stage of change may be more like riding the rolling terrain of the Great Plains. We all cycle and recycle the journey of change and learn about ourselves in the process.

The Renewing Spirits Bicycle Tour invites your partnership on this journey. The funds raised will help us provide access to mental health care for persons having difficulties knowing where to go for help, provide therapy to people of all ages, prepare young people for marriage, and provide support to pastors. It will also offer delinquent kids a new start, help adoptive parents handle tough challenges, and much more.

While most people like to think of themselves as independent, the reality is most of us need a little help sometimes. Many who need and use the services at Pine Rest are unable to meet the full cost. They are deeply grateful for generous communities who make hope, help, and healing a reality. Your donations will be used for immediate services—to meet needs through new programs, to assure long-term financial strength, to cover the gaps of insurance coverage, and for other charitable services.
